A Bodysex workshop is a women-only, two-day workshop, and a deeply transformational, life-changing experience.
Its purpose is to bring awareness, healing, and celebration to the relationship with your own body and sexuality. You'll leave body shame behind, and walk more proudly with confidence in yourself, your body, and feeling more worthy of living your life in pleasure and joy.
It's done in the nude, but it's not sexual. The environment is a safe, supportive space of a circle of women. It's sisterhood at its best, where competition disappears, and we all learn from each other, building strong connections and friendships.
Your Body. Your Orgasm.
We all share first person, answering the questions: how do you feel about your body? How do you feel about your orgasm?
Genital Show & Tell
We get to see a vast array of vulvas, that they're all normal, and beautiful. Naming and reclaiming your vulva is an empowering ritual.
Rock & Roll Technique
We demonstrate Betty's Rock&Roll technique: the combination of clitoral stimulation and vaginal penetration, designed for a blended orgasm.
Erotic Recess Session
We sit in a circle together and enjoy and explore our pleasure on our own. Yes, we masturbate together, alone. It's about celebrating pleasure, recognizing how natural it is, in a completely judgement-free environment.
We share massage in smaller groups, with non-sexual touch. We get to experience compassion and care.
Happy Relaxed Dinner
After the Workshop closes, women usually choose to go to dinner together and continue the lively conversation that just sparked between them. However, this is optional and not part of the workshop.
The origins. Betty Dodson.
Betty Dodson, the famous sex educator from the 70's, is the originator of Bodysex Workhops. She is the author of the best-selling book Sex for One and has been named the founding mother of women's sexual liberation.
The workshops emerged from the feminist Consciousness Raising groups, where women met regularly to discuss topics important to them, sharing their experience in first person. Betty has conducted these workshops since the 70's.
You can watch Betty and Carlin (Betty's business partner) talk more about the workshops:
Frequently asked questions
What if I have my period?
No problem. You can use a tampon, menstrual cup, or a piece of natural sea sponge during genital show & tell and erotic recess.
What if I have a yeast infection?
No problem. I would recommend some cranberry pills or the monistat egg to treat your yeast infection then head over to the workshop.
What if I can't orgasm?
If you orgasm, great. If you don't, that's ok too. Orgasm is NOT the goal. We're here to heal body shame, overcome sexual guilt and experience true sisterhood. There's no agenda and no expectations.
Can I bring my own barbell and wand?
Yes. If you've already purchased the barbell and the wand, you can bring them with you to the workshop.
Can I bring something to eat?
Of course. We provide water, fruit, cheese, crackers and cookies.
